  • To provide customer support, fit advice, returns, and warranty / legal-guarantee support.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmation, dispatch, delivery, return updates).

  • To maintain website performance and security.
  • To improve products, content, customer service, and store usability.

Lawful bases (UK GDPR + EU GDPR)

Depending on the context, we rely on: - Contract — to process orders, payments, delivery, returns, support, and service messages. - Consent — for marketing emails / SMS and non-essential cookies where consent is required. - Legitimate interests — to improve the store, prevent fraud, protect security, handle customer service, and understand store performance, where those interests aren't overridden by your rights. - Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, consumer-law, fraud-prevention, and regulatory requirements.

Marketing

We only send marketing emails or SMS if you've opted in. Opting in is never a condition of purchase.

You can opt out at any time by: - Clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. - Replying STOP to any marketing SMS. - Emailing support@rodarmour.com.

Service messages about your order (dispatch notifications, delivery updates, return updates) are sent on the contract lawful basis and aren't marketing — you'll still receive these while you have an active order with us.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the store, cart, checkout, security, fraud prevention, and consent preferences. We use analytics and marketing cookies only where consent is given.

Types of cookies we use: - Strictly necessary — needed for the store to work: navigation, cart, checkout, payment security, login, fraud prevention, consent preferences, security, load balancing. These cookies can't be switched off through the store without breaking core functionality. - Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the store. Only with your consent. - Marketing — pixels and tags from advertising platforms. Only with your consent. - App and partner cookies — set by Shopify, payment providers, Yotpo, Rebuy, analytics providers, advertising platforms, and other store apps. These partners may process data according to their own privacy terms.

You can accept, decline, or manage cookie choices through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect cart, checkout, account, or store functionality.

Data we receive from ad platforms

We run paid advertising on Google, Meta, and TikTok. If you've engaged with a Rod Armour ad, those platforms may share aggregated or event-level campaign data with us. We use this only to measure performance and show more relevant ads. We don't combine it with your identifiable customer data unless you've consented via the cookie banner.

International transfers

Techtaalik Pty Ltd is based in Australia, and some of our service providers process data outside the UK and the EU/EEA (mainly Canada and the United States). Australia isn't currently covered by a UK or EU adequacy decision. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by law, such as: - EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for EU/EEA personal data transferred to Australia or other non-adequate destinations. - The UK International Data Transfer Addendum (IDTA) for UK personal data transferred to Australia or other non-adequate destinations. - Shopify and provider transfer terms, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

You can request a copy of these safeguards by emailing support@rodarmour.com.

How long we keep data

  • Order and transaction records: up to 7 years (tax / accounting requirements).
  • Customer-service messages: up to 2 years after the case closes, unless a longer period is needed for legal, fraud, or warranty / legal-guarantee reasons.
  • Marketing contact data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, subject to suppression records needed to honour opt-outs.
  • Cookie and analytics data: according to the lifespan of each cookie or the relevant platform settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have the right to: - Be informed about how your personal data is used. - Access the personal data we hold about you. - Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data. - Delete personal data (subject to records we're legally required to keep). - Restrict how we process personal data. - Object to processing, including certain marketing or legitimate-interest processing. - Receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format (data portability). - Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. - Avoid solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects. Shopify's fraud-risk score informs our order review, but a human always makes the final call on any held or refused order. - Complain to a supervisory authority (see below).

To exercise these rights, email support@rodarmour.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We aim to respond within one month unless the request is complex or applicable law allows more time.

How to complain

For UK customers: you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

For EU customers: you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live, work, or where the alleged breach occurred. A full list of EU supervisory authorities is at edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en.

EU GDPR Representative (Article 27): Techtaalik Pty Ltd has designated Iris & Lir Ventures Limited as its EU GDPR Article 27 Representative. EU data subjects and supervisory authorities may contact the Representative directly:

  • Iris & Lir Ventures Limited
  • 13 Adelaide Road, Dublin 2, D02 P950, Ireland
  • Email: support@rodarmour.com

The designation is governed by a written mandate; a copy is available on request.

Automated decisions and fraud checks

Shopify, payment providers, and fraud-prevention tools may generate fraud-risk signals to help protect customers and the store. We don't use personal data for solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects without human review where required by law.

Security

We protect your data with technical and organisational measures — HTTPS / TLS on every page, PCI-DSS compliant payment infrastructure, role-based account access, staff access controls, and two-factor authentication on all staff accounts. No online system is completely secure. If you believe your data or account has been compromised, email support@rodarmour.com.

Australian Privacy Principles (APP)

As an Australian-based operator, Techtaalik Pty Ltd is also subject to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. The disclosures in this policy meet the higher GDPR standard, which equals or exceeds APP requirements. For APP-specific enquiries you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
